Kimberly & the bird collection visit preschool classes
Kimberly was invited to visit preschool classrooms to talk about birds (and a bit about beetles). During the visit, the group discussed bird morphology, what birds eat, and how birds interact with trees. While “perched” in an impressively small chair, Kimberly read the book Mel Fell and showed the students a variety of specimens from the UTK bird collection — including a male Belted Kingfisher from 1888! Many thanks to Arpi Nyári for maintaining and loaning the UTK bird collection.
